Wu Yanni
Happy birthday to China’s Wu Yanni, the Chinese national record holder in the 60m hurdles and currently ranked #54 in the world in the 100m hurdles.
Yanni’s record, 8.01 seconds, has stood since March 2025, and it sits alongside an Asian Championships bronze medal, a World University Games silver medal, and six national titles across her career. That’s a genuinely rare combination: a continental medal, a global-stage silver, and half a dozen domestic championships, all belonging to the same athlete who also happens to hold her country’s fastest-ever mark over the hurdles indoors. She’s also an Adidas signing athlete, one of a small number of Chinese track athletes to carry that kind of backing.
