Nevia Fotak
🇭🇷 TEAM CROATIA, DAY 1 AT THE WORLD U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN EUGENE
Nevia Fotak is through to the World U20 long jump final. 6.09m (+1.7) in group A, inside the twelve, and Croatia has a jumper in a global final on day one.
That qualifying round was as demanding as any all day. The automatic standard was 6.35m, only one woman in the world reached it, and the final cut still came down at 6.06m. Fotak cleared that bar and she did it in the deeper of the two groups.
Lara Jelić (larajelic_) was in the 100m, running 11.91 in heat 1 at her first World U20 Championships.
Over 800m, Ana Poljak (ana._.poljak) ran 2:12.56 in heat 1 and Elena Ban (elena_ban) 2:13.31 in heat 4, both of them lining up in a round that produced some of the quickest U20 800m running of the year.
Four Croatian women in Eugene and a long jump finalist among them. Bravo, cure! 👏🔥🫶🫶🇭🇷
