Happy birthday to Argentine sprinter Malena Gobbo, who is putting together the kind of outdoor season coaches love: 100s, 200s, 400s and relay duty, wherever speed is needed. Malena took second in both the 100 and 400m at the opening Copa Santa Fe meet, ran 12.53 and 25.90 over a busy April weekend in Buenos Aires, and helped her team reach the 4x400m podium at the Copa Nacional de Clubes. No hiding in one event. Just race.

Her Platform: Away from competition, Malena is also a physical-education teacher based in Rosario, Santa Fe.
