Happy birthday to Hungarian high-jump star Júlia Pénzes, who enters her twenties as an established 1.83m jumper. Júlia reached that height twice within two weeks last summer, first in Szolnok and then again in Kaposvár, proving that the breakthrough was not a fortunate one-day result but a level she had genuinely learned to reproduce.

That distinction is important in high jump. Clearing a new height once can be a magical moment. Returning and doing it again demonstrates technical control, composure and growing confidence at the bar. At 1.83m, Júlia has already reached a standard that places her among Hungary’s leading women, yet she is only beginning the years in which many high jumpers make their greatest progress. Twenty arrives with an excellent platform and plenty of room above it.
