Josefina Brunet

Happy birthday to Argentina’s Josefina Brunet, a pole vaulter out of Santa Fe with a senior national medal now on her resume.

Last year, Josefina took bronze at Argentina’s National Championships in Concepción del Uruguay against the country’s top senior vaulters. That’s a podium finish in one of the sport’s most technically unforgiving events, where a career is built one carefully timed takeoff and pole-flex at a time. She trains out of the high-performance center in Santa Fe under coach Maximiliano Troncoso, in a training group that has produced some of the country’s best vaulters, and her own personal best sits at 3.62m. Her rise through the sport includes real international experience too — she was selected to represent Argentina at the South American U20 Championships in Bogotá, Colombia.

At 22, with a senior national medal and an international vest already behind her, Josefina is a pole vaulter with real momentum heading into her prime years for the event.
