Jagoda Mierzyńska

Happy birthday to Poland’s sprinter Jagoda Mierzyńska, who is running the fastest times of her life right now.

Jagoda’s 2026 indoor season opened at the ORLEN Copernicus Cup in Toruń in February, a World Indoor Tour Gold meeting and one of the deepest 60m fields put together anywhere all winter. She ran 7.19 in it, a personal best. A week later, on the same track, she took bronze at the Polish Indoor Championships in 7.25, behind Ewa Swoboda and Magdalena Stefanowicz. In June she lowered her outdoor 100m best to 11.50.

Both of those personal bests are 2026 marks, indoors and outdoors inside the same calendar year. That is the signature of a sprinter who has found something, and she has found it inside one of the deepest women’s sprint groups in Europe. Jagoda races out of KS AZS AWF Wrocław, and she is a European U23 Championships bronze medallist.

There is one more thing she has made. In 2022 she released her first single, Szklanka i Rum, and it is still up on Spotify under her own name.
