Irina Kampon

Happy monumental birthday to Russian sprint prospect Irina Kampon, who is already holding her own against much more experienced competition. Irina reached the senior final at Moscow’s Christmas Cup in January and ran 7.59 over 60m, just four hundredths outside her personal best. She already owns marks of 7.55 indoors, 12.18 over 100m and 25.48 over 200m, giving her a strong foundation across the full short-sprint range.

Those numbers are impressive, but so is the experience behind them. Irina has spent her teenage years learning how to handle championship rounds, fast fields and the tiny margins that decide sprint races. Aging out of U18s is not an end, but the beginning of the next chapter, where all that accumulated work can start producing something even larger.
