Happy birthday to Colombian heptathlon champion Damaris Palomeque, who closed 2025 by winning Bolivarian Games gold with 5,420 points. Earlier in the season, Damaris had reached 5,813, placing her comfortably among the leading combined-events athletes in the Americas. Seven events, two days and a gold medal waiting at the end. That is an extremely satisfying way to complete a season.
