Happy birthday to Brazilian sprint star Anny Bassi, who gave us a pretty good reminder last month that she remains one of the most dangerous relay anchors in South America. At the World Athletics Relays in Gaborone, Anny brought Brazil home in a season-best 3:28.59 in the 4x400m, ripping through the anchor leg in 51.57, the fastest split on the Brazilian team. When Brazil needs speed at the end of a relay, Anny is an awfully good person to hand the baton to.
