Happy birthday to Italian speed athlete and newly minted Winter Olympian Alessia Gatti, who turned track acceleration into a place in the back of an Olympic bobsled. Alessia competed as Giada Andreutti’s brakewoman in the two-woman event at Milano Cortina 2026, finishing 20th in her Olympic debut. From sprint lanes and hurdles to pushing a sled down an icy mountain at the Olympic Games. Completely normal career progression.

Her Platform: Alessia is an Italian Army athlete, a Biological Sciences graduate and a world champion in push competition.
