Isabela Teixeira

Happy birthday to Brazil’s combined-events athlete Isabela Teixeira, a heptathlete whose jumping is good enough to stand entirely on its own.

Across her 2025 season Isabela produced the best two days of her career back to back. At the Brazilian University Games in Brasília she long jumped 6.18m on one afternoon and triple jumped 13.15m on the next. Two lifetime bests in two different events in 48 hours, at a student championship, while carrying a full academic load. She also ran 14.36 over the 100m hurdles that May and won the triple jump at a stage of the Circuito Paulista Open in Araraquara.

Her bio carries a South American U20 silver and a South American U18 bronze, and she has a heptathlon score of 5,029 points from the Troféu Brasil. That number matters more than it looks. A five-thousand-point heptathlon means every one of the seven events is functional, and it is the threshold where a combined-events athlete stops being a promising collection of parts and becomes a genuine scorer.

Isabela competes for ADC São Bernardo, one of the most serious interclub programmes in Brazilian athletics, under coach Ivan Scolfaro. With two horizontal jumps that both improved in the same weekend and a hurdles time still coming down, the ceiling on that heptathlon score is a long way above where it currently sits.
