Happy birthday to Israeli jumping queen Romi Tamir, who immediately made herself at home in American collegiate athletics. Romi jumped 6.33m in the long jump and a national U23-record 13.50m in the triple jump during her first month at Illinois, then qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships. Seven Israeli national titles were apparently only the beginning.
