Lena PajęCka

🇵🇱 TEAM POLAND, DAY 1 AT THE WORLD U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN EUGENE

Lena Pajęcka had the kind of day that takes real physical courage. She ran her leg of the mixed 4x400m relay, helping Poland to a season best 3:21.47 and a place in the final, then came back to the 800m and advanced out of heat 4 in 2:09.64. A relay final and an 800m semi-final, both banked in a single session.

Jasmine Maria Kanakanti ran the other women’s leg in that qualifying relay and went again in the final alongside Maja Zbielska, giving Poland four women on the track across the two rounds.

Róża Olchawa (@roza_olchawa) also moved on over 800m, taking second in heat 1 in 2:10.02.

In the 100m, Maja Gondek (maja_gondek) ran 11.59 to take second in her heat and reached the semi-finals, where she ran 11.66. Oliwia Kasprzak (@oliwiia.kasprzak) clocked 11.61 in her heat into a headwind.

Six Polish women, a relay final, a 100m semi-finalist and two 800m semi-finalists. Brawo, dziewczyny! 👏🔥🫶🫶🇵🇱
