🇨🇭 TEAM SWITZERLAND, DAY 1 AT THE WORLD U20 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN EUGENE

Xenia Buri is in the World U20 100m final, and she got there with a Swiss U20 national record. She won her heat in 11.38, then ran 11.23 in the semi-final for third place, the fourth fastest semi of the round and a new Swiss U20 record. A national record in a World Championships semi-final, with a place in the final attached to it.

Mara Schwitter (@maraschwitter) made the semis alongside her, running a personal best 11.55 in her heat and 11.68 in the semi. A lifetime best and a World Championships semi-final in the same day.

Over 800m, Switzerland put two more athletes into the semi-finals. Fiona von Flüe (@fionavonfluee) advanced in 2:06.40, the joint ninth fastest time of the round, and Noée Wipfli (@noeewipfli) came through in 2:06.74. Both inside 2:07.

In the pole vault, Melina Häuptli (@melina.hpl) cleared 3.95m and Amélie Ledermann 3.80m.
